Chris, a lifelong outdoorsman, is a leader in outdoor experiential education. After graduating from college in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Rehabilitation and Counseling, Chris established the first Incarceration for Youth "California Wilderness Trainings" and subsequently developed trainers and ran similar programs for the States of Alaska, Washington and Oregon . He went on to be the director of the California Outward Bound School . Later, Chris became a facilitator for a California-based experiential education company and focused on a number of philanthropic and cultural exchange programs, including Project RAFT - "Russians and Americans for Teamwork," an outdoor leadership partnership in which Chris became the first American to run white water in Siberia . His rafting includes the first descent of two major Russian rivers. A member of the American team to attempt climbing the Tibet side of K2 , Chris is a Master Ropes Course Builder, translating his love for mountain climbing into developing safe, challenging ropes courses and training experiences for corporate and public group use. After moving to Asia in the 1990s, Chris introduced the concept of experiential learning in Japan and developed trainers/facilitators in Korea . He is the Chairman of TWP and continues to mentor developing trainers. He is based in Bali.
Jim Cook oversees the development of TWP global operations. Jim began his career in real estate brokerage and development after earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Texas State University in the United States . He has more than 20 years' experience in the seminar industry. Jim continues to run trainings on a regular basis and has conducted programs for leading multi-national and Asian corporations, including Allied Domecq, AT&T, Bank Mandiri, Cathay Pacific and Hindustan Lever. He is based in Hong Kong.
Mark is one of the two Managing Partners who lead TWP having opened the first office in Malaysia in 1995. In addition to his total group role, he is also responsible for TWP operations in Southeast Asia , and developing markets. Mark is a Senior Trainer, Consultant and Executive Coach and has conducted programs in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas . In the international arena, Mark has designed and led programs for both the United Nations and Unicef. He also led a team to design and deliver character building modules for over 200,000 teenagers in the Malaysian National Service and has led the mentoring program for the 150 most senior police officers in Singapore . Previously, he worked for more than 12 years with the multi-national Unilever, most recently as Commercial Director in Malaysia . Mark has held senior positions with companies in Britain , Hong Kong , China , Thailand , Korea , Malaysia , Indonesia and Singapore . He has a Bachelor of Science with honours in Accounting and Financial Analysis from Britain 's Warwick University and is an Associate Chartered Management Accountant. Mark is based in London and Singapore.
Emily Liu is one of the two Managing Partners responsible for leading TWP. She joined the company in 1996 and set up the Taipei office. In 1999, she assumed a regional role, taking charge of the North East Asia Division including Hong Kong and Taiwan . Following that, Emily set up the first TWP offices in China : Shanghai (2004) and Shenzhen (2006). Under Emily's dynamic leadership, the NEA Division has expanded at an exponential rate. Prior to joining TWP, Emily had a successful career in advertising at Leo Burnett Company and Bates Advertising, where she developed campaigns for major multi-national companies such as Proctor & Gamble, United Airlines, Nokia, Heineken and Apple Computers. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication from Fu-Jen Catholic University in Taiwan , studied in EMBA at Hong Kong University of Science & Technology in 2001, and is a Certified Corporate Coach (Corporate Coach U). Emily is an inspirational champion of organisational and personal development and is based in Hong Kong and Taipei.
Ken Ito is an expert in designing and facilitating indoor and outdoor experiential training programs that give companies powerful tools for developing leadership and renewing corporate values and commitment to excellence. Ken has 15 years experience working with companies in Asia, the US , and Europe to increase efficiency, enhance communication, build teamwork, and dramatically improve bottom-line results. Clients include Shell, Philips, Oracle, JP Morgan Chase, Grand Hyatt, Cathay Pacific and Nike. Before joining TWP in 1997, Ken was Managing Director of KKI Associates, Asia , a consulting and training firm specializing in staff development, team building, leadership training and motivational speaking. He was
certified to do the Samurai Game® created by Mr. George Leonard. Ken earned his undergraduate degree in psychology at University of Illinois and his Masters of Education at University of Hawaii (USA). He is based in Singapore.
Bernard Tang joined TWP in 2000 and has progressed from field work in leadership and customer relations to certification as a Cantonese-speaking trainer in 2003. Previously, Bernard worked as an executive officer for the Hong Kong Government from 1995 to 2000, assigned to various departments including Public Affairs, Immigration and Health. A Hong Kong native, he earned his Bachelor's degree in English, literature and sociology from the University of Hong Kong . He is based in Hong Kong.
As Director of Research and Marketing, Marcus is responsible for extending the TWP portfolio as well as developing the branding and communication strategy for the group. Prior to joining TWP, Marcus worked at Unilever for 12 years, initially in the Marketing Department with roles including Brand and Innovation Management and latterly as the Change Management Executive on a major pan-European culture change program.
Marcus is a specialist in leadership development, creativity, change management, internal communication and coaching. And is currently working to develop new TWP products and consultancy solutions.

Michelle Beck joined TWP in 2004 and specializes in Executive Coaching and Leadership Development. She brings a unique blend of management experience and Asian cultural knowledge to her work. Michelle has lived and worked in Asia for more than 18 years and is fluent in Mandarin. Before she joined TWP, Michelle was a member of the executive team at Global Sources, one of Asia 's first and most successful B2B internet businesses. She was part of the team that orchestrated the transition from print media to a NASDQ-listed E-Commerce company. As Vice President of Community Development she led of a team of 150 people in seven countries. She received her Bachelors of Arts degree from Augustana College and her Master of Arts in Modern Chinese history from the University of Wisconsin - Madison (USA). She is based in Singapore.
Mel Christie has 30 years' experience as a consultant and trainer in personal and organizational transformation, leadership development, team effectiveness, strategic planning and implementation. As an associate of TWP, Mel is a recognized expert in the fields of conflict resolution, leadership development, executive team building, and executive coaching. He has helped Fortune 500 executives in the US , Canada , and Asia to realize more of their personal potential and enhance corporate effectiveness. Gene Dunaway has been an Associate of TWP since 1997. He began his career as an attorney, providing legal services to low-income men and women in rural Arkansas . In 1988, he left his legal practice to work in transformational education. From 1988 to 1997, he led personal effectiveness trainings for more than 25,000 participants in the United States , Canada and Russia . In 1992, Gene founded Sustainable Strategies, Inc., a company committed to researching and designing adult learning environments that facilitate the transition to a peaceful and sustainable future. While continuing to serve as president of Sustainable Strategies, Gene has supported thousands of people in their personal growth by leading trainings in Hong Kong , Taiwan , Indonesia , Malaysia , Singapore , and Europe . He has a bachelor's degree in psychology from Hendrix College and a doctorate in law from the University of Arkansas . He is based in Arkansas (USA).
Ivy Fung first joined TWP in 1997. She has over 10 years in delivering trainings in Asia Pacific to clients such as HIT, Motorola, Leo Burnett, Mindshare Communications, Tricon, Nike, CSTDI (the Government of the HKSAR), and Coca-Cola, Zung-Fu, Johnson & Johnson and Mattel. She has also led consulting teams to design people development solutions around accelerated development of business leadership, team culture enhancement, management competencies improvement, performance breakthrough, and various business soft-skills development programs. In 2004, she joined a local enterprise as General Manager to build up the brand. She successfully led a team to build MTR shops which resulted in an increase of 100% of the turnover. Later, she joined a multi-national cosmetic brand which has over 50 outlets & 600 staff in Hong Kong as the Regional Human Capital Development Director in order to provide direction in corporate HR development. She is now focusing on projects in corporate re-engineering, building corporate mission and vision & corporate strategies. Ivy rejoined TWP in 2007. She has a Bachelor degree in Psychology from the University of Manitoba, Canada and has spent much of her career in different regions of the world. Ivy is based in Hong Kong and speaks fluent English, Mandarin & Cantonese.
Phillip Liu is a Senior Consultant, Trainer and Coach for TWP. He joined TWP in 2001 after eight years as a trainer and performance consultant with the Performance System Group in Asian Region and Zig Ziglar companies in Taiwan. He has skills in customer loyalty and power selling, coupled with more than 15 years in sales, marketing and management experience. He puts this experience to use in developing training programs on performance improvement, customer loyalty and sales. He has designed and delivered seminars and training programs for corporate clients including Ford Motor China and Taiwan, Grand Hyatt Taipei, Citigroup, Swire, Coka-Cola, Taishin Financial Holding and Pizza Hut. He is the author of two books on sales and management and was columnist for several business magazines and newspapers. He has regional consulting experience in Taiwan, Hong Kong and China. Phillip obtained his MBA degree from Saginaw Valley State University at Michigan (USA). He is based in Taiwan.
Gareth McIlroy is responsible for the overall quality and consistency of TWP training programs on a global basis, he is also a Senior TWP Trainer, Consultant and Executive Coach and has worked in this capacity in Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas. Gareth has conducted programs and coached executives from multinational companies including Dell, Sony Ericsson, Standard Chartered Bank, Shell and Unilever. Before joining TWP, he worked as a Project Manager, and Business Development Director for major international construction companies in London , Gibraltar , Malaysia , and Thailand . Originally from Northern Ireland , he earned his Bachelors of Science with Honours in Civil Engineering from Loughborough University (UK), and an Executive MBA from Chulalongkorn University ( Bangkok , Thailand ). Gareth is based in Singapore.
Mickey McQuaid has been an Associate of TWP since 1995. She has more than 20 years' experience in the training industry, and has helped more than 40,000 participants in the United States , Russia , and Asia to achieve powerful breakthroughs in their personal and professional lives. Since 1994, Mickey has worked as a consultant and workshop leader with a wide variety of companies in the US and Asia , assisting executives and managers to clarify goals, increase productivity, improve communication between staff and clients, decrease staff turnover, and develop total quality service. Mickey graduated from the University of California at Santa Cruz with a BA in Theatre, and did graduate work in theatre at the New York University School of the Arts. She is based in Southern California (USA).
Peggy O’Neal is responsible for the management and development of coaching programs and coaches for TWP clients as well as being an Executive Coach. Peggy has been coaching and training for twenty years, and for the fifteen years prior to joining TWP managed her own coaching, training and consulting company.
She is a recognized expert in complex management, leadership, coaching, financial and business development issues. She has developed and delivered leadership and management training as well as coaching for leaders in global organizations, including Agilent Technologies, Charles Schwab & Co., Inc., Hewlett Packard, Kendall Jackson Winery, OCLI, a division of JDS Uniphase, and Oracle Corporation.
Peggy has also developed curriculums and manuals for The Management Coaching Program, Universal Principles for Conscious Business, Get Real Selling, Conversations for Effective Action, Hiring and Keeping Talented People, and multiple others. Her highly-acclaimed teleseminar series, High Point Selling™ has supported hundreds of sales professionals to achieve increased sales results.
Peggy has also taught coaching programs for the College of Continuing Education at California State University in Sacramento. Before she became a coach, consultant and trainer, Peggy practiced law for thirteen years. She served through Bill Clinton as an Assistant Attorney General and as State Purchasing Director in Arkansas, then started her own law practice, specializing in business and corporate law. She also coordinated and delivered trainings in labor-management relations for the Federal Labor Relations Authority as part of the Clinton administration.
Peggy obtained her Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor Degrees from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and is now based in Singapore.
Bill Randall is an Associate of TWP who brings a unique blend of entrepreneurial experience and leadership skills, corporate management and academic teaching to his work as a trainer and coach for The Works Partnership. As an Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship and Director of Moot Corp. Entrepreneurship program at Thammasat University (Thailand), Bill lectures and mentors students in creating business ideas and bringing them to life as businesses. In TWP trainings, he coaches experienced business people in realizing new aspirations and opportunities for leadership and success at work. His experience includes organizing and delivering custom corporate training for the Australian Embassy's Political and Commercial departments and Austrade. He has been an invited speaker at the Asia Business Forum on Entrepreneurship and Business Plan Development. Bill earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania (USA) and a Master of Management joint degree from The Wharton School, J.L. Elizabeth (Betsy) Reed, an Associate of TWP, has over 25 years' professional experience. She works extensively in the areas of intensive leadership education/development, executive coaching, high-performance team building, cross-functional conflict resolution, large-scale interactive educational events, curriculum development, organizational diagnosis & qualitative analysis, and coaching in change management. Her clients have included British Airways-US, Citibank International Retail Bank, Dofasco Steel-Canada, US West Communications, RR Donnelley & Sons-International, Griffith Laboratories International, Philip Morris-US, Playtex Products, Inc., and the Government of Indonesia. Michael Rosso is an Associate of TWP. He has 20 years' experience as a professional facilitator and has worked with more than 50,000 people worldwide in the areas of empowerment, accountability, vision and goal setting. Gordon Sutton joined TWP in 1999 after 15 years in Sales, Marketing and Management in the construction sector, including major contracts in the UK, Australia, UAE and Malaysia. Gordon served for seven years in the British Army Corps of Royal Engineers, where he studied Civil Engineering at the Royal School of Military Engineering in Kent, England and graduated as a Survey Engineer in 1982. At TWP, Gordon specializes in teambuilding and leadership coaching, and is a certified ropes course outdoor education facilitator. Gordon’s leadership coaching role has witnessed his provision of performance coaching facilitation to senior staff members of Philip Morris. Gordon’s clients include Philip Morris, MOX, 180 Degree, Merck, BC Trustee, Nippon Express, HPD, Bursa Malaysia and Toyota Capital. He is based in Kuala Lumpur.
As the first Mandarin-speaking trainer in TWP, Miranda Yen is a lead trainer and in both TWP's public and corporate divisions. Miranda has trained over 6,000 students in Taiwan , Hong Kong , Malaysia , Singapore , and China from various sectors and levels in personal effectiveness, leadership, and communications. Clients include Citigroup, Taishin Bank, Swire Coca-cola , China Overseas, and Centaline Properties. With a Taiwanese background and educational exposure to western culture, Miranda is fluent in Mandarin, English, Cantonese, and Shanghainese, making her one of the most versatile multi-lingual trainers in TWP. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Mary Washington in Virginia , USA . Before she joined TWP in 1997, Miranda worked extensively in marketing and advertising, including the well-known multi-national advertising agency Leo Burnett.
